Creating a Person Profile in HarvardSites (VIDEO)

This tutorial helps you create a Person Profile in HarvardSites. It helps you build reusable profiles that can appear across your site and in People Directories. Person Profiles are used to showcase faculty, staff, researchers, students, and other people connected to your site. A Person Profile is more than a regular page. It's structured content designed to be reused throughout your site. Person Profiles can be used for faculty members, staff, researchers, students, and other people you want visitors to discover. 

To create a profile, add a new Person item. Start with the person's name and professional title. Use the biography field to describe the person's background, expertise, and professional accomplishments. A professional headshot helps visitors quickly recognize and connect with the person. Include contact information details that visitors may need. Additional information can be used to provide research areas, office hours, affiliations, or other helpful details. Add links to related resources, publications, or external websites when appropriate. Categories help organize profiles and support People Listings throughout your site. 

Once the profile is complete, publish it to make it available on your site. Visitors can now view the completed profile and learn more about the person. Person Profiles can appear on their own pages and can also be displayed in People Directories across your site. Think of a Person Profile as reusable content that can be displayed in multiple places throughout your site.
