Creating an RSS feed

How to create an RSS feed from your News content type

An RSS feed (Really Simple Syndication) is a special web link provided by your website that contains its most recent news content updates in a simple, standardized format. This allows you to use a feed reader app to automatically collect new articles or blog posts into a single, convenient list.

Please note that this requires you to have a News Listing Page in order to create an RSS feed.

Step 1: Configure your News content type to enable an RSS feed

  1. Go to Site Settings > Content Type Settings.
  2. Under Actions, click on Settings on the News content type.
  3. Check the box for Expose content in a RSS feed.
  4. Click on Save.

Step 2: Go to your News listing page and copy the RSS feed URL

  1. Find the News listing page you want to generate an RSS feed for. You can find it by searching under Content.
  2. You will see an auto-generated RSS feed link under Expose content in an RSS feed.
    1. The RSS feed link will only be visible to site administrators. It will not be visible to your site visitors.
  3. Copy the generated RSS feed link and add it to your desired RSS reader tool (e.g., MailChimp feed or another application). The system should automatically parse the results from your News listing page to your reader application.

Additional notes:

  • If you create multiple News listing pages with different filters, each one will generate a unique RSS feed link.
  • If the news listing page is unpublished, the RSS feed will return an error message.
