### How do I share a file for users to download? expand\_more

If you plan to link to the file from other content, such as an inline link or component, create a **Resource** for the file and then use that **Resource** as the **Link URL** when linking to the file. When you create a **Resource** with the **Resource Type** set to **Download File**, when users select a link to that **Resource**, the file will download automatically.

See guidance on [File Attachments](/resource/file-attachments "File Attachments") and instructions for using the [Resource Content type](/resource "Resource") and [Linking to a File](/linking-file "Linking to a file").

### What layout region should I use for components? expand\_more

The **Page** content type has three layout regions that support components:

- **Top Region:** The **Top Region** is for banners, like a **Hero** component or **50/50 Card**, that establish the tone and topic of the page.
- **Main Region:** Components added to the **Additional Content** area of the **Main Region** augment and expand on the main narrative, for example, with pull quotes, data tables, or image mosaics.
- **Bottom Region**: The **Bottom Region** spans the width of the browser window and provides a space for supplementary content, such as a list of related content.

Other content types have a **Main Region** with an **Additional Content** area and, in some cases, a **Bottom Region**.

**Site Administrators** can add components to a **Global Content** region right above the **Site Footer.** Components added to this section display across the content type. For example, the **News** content type might have a **News List** that appears at the bottom of all **News** pages.

See guidance on [Page Regions](/resource/page-regions "Page Regions") for more details about the different layout regions and instructions for [working with layout and list components](/components "Components").

### What size should I make my images? expand\_more

The optimal image size depends on the context. For example, the optimal dimensions for an image used as a **Thumbnail** or on a **Vertical Card** are 960 x 540 pixels. Banner images, such as those in the **Hero** component and **News** banner, should be much larger, because banners adapt to fill the browser window width. When sizing an image for use on your site, balance file size with optimal dimensions for the context of use, bearing in mind that the platform does not allow images over 5MB.

#### Learn more

See instructions for [Adding an Image](/adding-an-image "Adding an image") using the text editor and guidance on [Image Sizes](/resource/image-sizes "Image Sizes") for different content types and components.
