This tutorial explains how saving works in HarvardSites. If you've ever made changes and weren't sure they saved, this is a common experience, and once you understand how saving works, it becomes much easier to manage.

Saving doesn’t happen all at once. It happens at different levels as you work. When you edit content inside a component, you’re working within a smaller part of the page. When you save here, you're saving that component, not the entire page.

To save everything. You also need to save the page itself. This is why it can feel like you need to save more than once. If you navigate away before, saving your changes, may not be kept. Saving your work doesn't always mean it's published. It may be saved as a draft.

A simple way to work, is to edit your content, save the component, and then save the page. Following a consistent workflow. Helps ensure your changes are saved. Saving works from the inside out from components to the page.

Use a consistent workflow to save your work at each step. Save components, then save the page to keep everything in sync. Happy building in HarvardSites.
