## How to work with the FAQ content type

The FAQ content type is useful for providing answers to common questions in a concise and scannable format.

### Step 1: Create an FAQ

1. Use the platform menu to navigate to **Content > Add Content > FAQ**.

### Step 2: Add FAQ details

1. Enter the question in the **Question** field. When FAQs display in a List Component, the question also serves as the button label for opening and closing the accordion panel.
2. Add an answer to the question in the **Answer** field. You can add content, images, links, quotes, and more within this section (see [Text Editor](/resource/text-editor "Text Editor") for details about using the toolbar and text input area).
    1. If you would like to add an image within your content, click on the media icon (see [Adding an image](/adding-an-image "Adding an image") for instructions for adding an image using the text editor).
    2. Format all of your content and images using the text editor.
3. Add additional components to the FAQ by selecting the **Choose component** button in the **Additional Content** section (see [Adding a component](/adding-component "Adding a component") for instructions on how to add a component). Components added to this section will display in the **Bottom Region** of the FAQ details page. Note that FAQs provided in a List Component will not include content added to the **Additional Content** section (see [List Component](/list-component "List Component") for instructions on providing FAQs in a summary format and layout).

### Step 3: Configure FAQ settings

1. We recommend assigning taxonomy terms to FAQs, to allow for filtered FAQ lists and support filtering in search results (see Taxonomy best practices and Managing taxonomies for guidance on creating and using taxonomies).
2. The first time you save an FAQ, we recommend you save as a **Draft** so that you can preview the FAQ and its links before publishing it to your site (see [Publish Status](/resource/publish-status "Publish Status") for details about different publication statuses).
